Name generator

Name generator

AI-proposed brandable names, run through DomainRadar's availability pipeline.

The name generator turns a short description ("a friendly fintech startup for solo creators") into thousands of candidate domain names – then optionally pipes every name through DomainRadar's availability check in one click.

How it works

  1. You write a prompt – a sentence or two describing the product, tone, audience.
  2. You pick TLDs to consider (.com, .io, .app, .ai, …) and a generation size:
    • small – ~100 names. Useful for quick brainstorming.
    • medium – ~1,000 names. Reasonable shortlist size.
    • large – ~10,000 names. Comprehensive but slower.
  3. The generator runs (a few seconds to a few minutes depending on size). Output is a list of candidate names.
  4. Click Check availability. Every name × every TLD enters a bulk check. Available domains surface to the top of the results.

Cost model

  • Generation is a flat-rate job (size doesn't significantly change the price). See the pricing page for the current rate.
  • Availability checks for generated names bill at standard bulk-check rates (cheap, mostly Bloom).

Behaviour and edge cases

  • Names aren't unique across jobs. Different generation runs with similar prompts can produce overlapping candidates. That's fine – the pipeline dedupes inside one bulk check.
  • The list is delivered all-at-once when generation completes. There's no streaming partial output.
  • Generation jobs are retained alongside their generated names so you can revisit and re-check availability later. Re-checks pick up new registrations against the same name list.
